Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent Gets Into Legal Trouble, FIR Filed Over A Contestant’s Controversial Comments

A recent episode of India’s Got Latent has caused outrage and legal action with a statement made by a contestant, Jessy Nabam, from Arunachal Pradesh. The incident took place when host Samay Raina asked Jessy about her background the conversation was taken to an inappropriate level where the consumption of dog meat came into Light.

What Did The Contestant Say?


When Samay asked her if she had ever eaten dog meat, Jessy responded with a comment that has since sparked much criticism. She said she never ate dog meat, but she knew that some people from Arunachal Pradesh did, saying, “I know because my friends eat it. They even eat their pets at times.” The nonchalant tone of the statement sent tongues wagging and sparked a social media frenzy and beyond.

The Legal Consequences

An FIR complaint was filed by the groups and people who felt the contestant’s remarks were prejudiced and damaging to the reputation of the people of Arunachal Pradesh. The FIR further alleges that Jessy Nabam made derogatory remarks about the indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh during her appearance on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent.

The complaint emphasizes the need for swift action, urging authorities to ensure that such insensitive and harmful comments are not repeated in the future. “I humbly request you that please take quick action in this matter so that no one could do it again like Jessy Nabam did,” the FIR reads, highlighting the gravity of the situation and calling for accountability to prevent similar incidents from occurring.

This incident points out the thin line between humour and insentivity on television. , especially on high-profile platforms like India’s Got Latent. With the filing of an FIR, it appears that the legal system is taking the matter seriously, signaling a step toward holding media responsible for promoting respectful content.
