Salman Khan Onboard For Apoorva Lakhia’s Next Film! Shooting Begins This July

After the underwhelming performance of Sikandar at the box office, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is gearing up for a war drama based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, which one of the most intense and widely discussed military conflicts between India and China, according to a report by Pinkvilla.

This marks a significant first for Salman, as he will portray an army officer in a full fledged role for the very first time in his career, Pinkvilla quoted the insider, “Apoorva Lakhia and Salman Khan are all set to start shooting for the film from July 2025. The film will be shot in Ladakh and Mumbai, over a period of 70-days starting July. It features Salman Khan as an army officer in a full fledged film for the first time in his career, and he will be joined by 3 other actors from the younger generation.”

Sources reveal that Apoorva Lakhia is preparing for a detailed recce in Ladakh, while finalizing key heads of departments (HODs) for the production, “At the moment, the film is on track to go on floors in July 2025. This will be Salman Khan’s next, until and unless there is a major turn of events in the week to come by. Salman believes that this is a terrific script, and the story has scope to make for a big screen experience. He often runs against the tide, and has shown his faith on Apoorva Lakhia for a sincere retelling of the real-life conflict. The casting for other key characters will begin shortly,” the source added.

The film is slated to begin shooting from July 2025, with a 70 day schedule planned across real locations in Ladakh and Mumbai. The project is aslso expected to blend real location shoots with grand recreations at a Mumbai studio.

Salman was last seen in Sikandar, an action drama film which was directed by A. R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. Also starring Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kishore, Jatin Sarna and Sanjay Kapoor. Salman Khan plays the titular role as Sanjay “Sikandar” Rajkot who is hunted by a politician seeking revenge for a family tragedy. Though the film was a commercial failure, it concluded the theatrical run with an estimated worldwide gross of ₹184.89 crores.
