Laxman Utekar’s movie Mimi was scheduled to release on July 30, 2021. However, the director and team of Mimi surprised fans by releasing the Kriti Sanon-starrer much in advance. The makers of the film released Mimi on July 26, which is 4 days ahead of the original release. Kriti got a surprise gift from them, a day before her birthday (July 27). And needless to add, she was elated to see her movie Mimi successfully streaming on OTT platforms. Based on the topic of surrogacy, Mimi has opened to phenomenal responses from critics and audiences alike.

Mimi’s star cast also included powerhouse actor Pankaj Tripathi and Love Sonia actress Sai Tamhankar. Talking about Sai, she essayed the character of Shama in the Dinesh Vijan directorial.

Shedding more light on her role in Mimi, Sai told Times Now Digital, “My character’s name is Shama. She is Mimi’s parchaayi (reflection). In our lives, there’s always one person with whom we share everything and discuss anything. That person can be anybody – it could be your sister, mother, aunty or koi bhi ho sakta hai. So, Mimi and Shama ek dusre ke liye vo hai. Shama sings and Mimi dances.”

She further heaped praise on her co-star Kriti as she called her the coolest person she has met. “She is very chilled and mazedaar ladki hai. She is very hardworking and gives her 100 per cent. And I feel after this film, Kriti is going to reach newer heights because she has done beautiful work in this film,” added Sai.

The actress also revealed that she was initially hesitant when it came to giving a hug to Kriti during the shoot. “Kriti aur mere bich mein physically comfort level hona bohot zaruri tha (It was necessary for us to share physical comfort). Initially, main bohot katrati thi (I was hesitant) if I am hugging her or if I have to hold her or if I had to shout, so she made it very easy for me. Whatever fun we had in the film, it had happened because of her and I enjoyed a lot.”

On the work front, Sai will be next seen in Madhur Bhandarkar’s film, India Lockdown. In the past, she has predominately worked in the Marathi film industry and done movies like Classmates, Guru Purnima, Vazandar, Girlfriend, Time Please, Duniyadari, Balak Palak, Wake Up India, and more films.
