Three weeks before the most stupendous Wrestlemania, Roman Reigns defended his Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre at a live event in Jackson. The superstars are performing at live events and their respective weekly shows on the road to Wrestlemania 38.
On Saturday (March 12), the superstars were in Jackson and entertained the crowd with their performances. Reigns put his Universal Championship on the line and successfully defeated McIntyre. McIntyre isn’t in a storyline with Reigns as he is slated to face Happy Corbin at the biggest show of the year.
On the other hand, Reigns will be facing present WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar. It’s a title for title match and the winner will walk out with both the belts. The match will be highlighting Wrestlemania Sunday. The main event match of Wrestlemania Saturday hasn’t been confirmed yet.
While Reigns defeated McIntyre this week, he had defeated Seth Rollins at Madison Square Garden last week. He had later attacked Lesnar after his title match against Austin Theory.
Meanwhile, the WWE Jackson event saw the comeback of King Woods. He had been out of action for a few months now. Since he has now made a return at a live event, King Woods might be on Smackdown next week. He might also compete at Wrestlemania 38.
Stone Cold set to return at Wrestlemania 38
Meanwhile, Stone Cold Steve Austin is set to make his WWE comeback at Wrestlemania 38. The WWE Hall of Famer will be on the KO show on Wrestlemania Saturday. The former WWE Champion had responded to Kevin Owens’ challenge a day after the Monday Night Raw.
Stone Cold had retired from in-ring action at Wrestlemania 19. If he competes in a match, it will be the first time since 2003 that he will be in the in-ring action. Stone Cold’s previous on-screen appearance came in March 2020.
