Star India National Cricket Team wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant made history with his outstanding performance in the first Test of the five-match series against the England National Cricket Team. On Wednesday, June 25, the ICC published the latest Test Rankings for batters, in which Rishabh Pant rose to the No.7 ranking. He now has 801 rating points.

Rishabh Pant is the first Indian keeper with 800 rating points

Against the English team in the first game of the Test series at Headingley in Leeds, Rishabh Pant scored twin hundreds. He played in his unorthodox style in the first innings and scored 134 runs off 178 balls, helping India achieve 471 runs despite a stunning collapse.

Pant displayed his alternate version on his way to his second ton in the game as he batted a lot of deliveries in the 90s before finishing his ton from 130 deliveries. Pant became the second wicketkeeper-batter to score twin tons in a Test match after Andy Flower.

His performances helped him rise to the 7th position in the ICC Test Batting Rankings, having earned 801 rating points to his name. With this achievement, he has become the first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to have achieved 800 rating points in Test cricket history.

Ben Duckett rockets to the No.8 position

England opener Ben Duckett has risen five places to position 8 in the Test batting rankings following his match-saving Player of the match effort in the Leeds Test vs India. He is at a career-best 787 rating points. Ollie Pope (up two places to 19th) and Jamie Smith (up seven places to 27th) also made big strides in the Joe Root-led rankings, while there was a five-place jump for Shubman Gill to 20th overall.

Besides England and India cricketers, Mushfiqur Rahim ascended 11 places to reach the 28th rank in batting rankings, and Najmul Hossain Shanto climbed 21 places to claim the 29th position after their excellent display with the bat against Sri Lanka.
