Rekhachithram OTT Release Date: Malayalam movies have been receiving immense praise from the audience for its thought provoking concepts. Another movie from Mollywood has been receiving critical acclaim and it is Asif Ali-starrer ‘Rekhachihram’. The film focuses on a cop, who is suspended due to a gambling scandal. He rejoins and is handed over an 40-year-old murder case. 

Rekhachithram OTT Release Date:

Rekhachithram will release on SonyLiv on March 7, 2025. The movie will also be available to watch in the dubbed versions of Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Announcing the release date, the makers wrote, “A forgotten crime. A buried truth. Time to uncover it all. Rekhachithram streaming from 7th March on SonyLIV.”

While speaking to The Hindu, director Jofin T Chacko opened up about the good response for his film ‘Rekhachithram’. He said, “We were 100% sure that the film would connect with the generation that grew up watching movies of Bharathan and Padmarajan and/or consuming film-based content in Nana and Chithrabhumi (popular vernacular film magazines of the period). But from this generation … it came as a surprise!”

He added, “Ramu and I had discussed the basic idea back then — that a movie from the past would be the backdrop of the plot and the use of a popular song of the time. We had even fixed the name of the lead character, Rekha, and the name of the movie. We felt that maybe it was not the film to be made as one’s first work. But I was certain I would make this movie at some point!”

Apart from Asif Ali, the movie also stars Anaswara Rajan, Manoj K. Jayan, Siddique, Jagadish, Saikumar, Harisree Ashokan and Indrans in the pivotal roles. Superstar Mammootty was seen in a special appearance.
