Ravindra Jadeja Vs Ben Stokes: Find Out Who Has Performed Better In Test Cricket

India and England have been competing in the second match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Edgbaston, Birmingham. While India completely dominated the batting on the first two days, especially captain Shubman Gill with his maiden Test double ton, the Indian bowling arsenal seems to be left complementing the batting side. The bowling continent has already sent half the team back to the pavilion. But what was most appreciated apart from Gill’s batting prowess was Ravindra Jadeja, the world number 1 all-rounder in Tests, smashing 89 runs in a crucial moment when India was losing wickets. While everyone is praising the Indian all-rounder, Ben Stokes, the English captain is facing backlash after departing again without creating an impact.

Jadeja Vs Stokes

While Jadeja smashed 89 runs in the need of the hour, Ben Stokes departed again without contributing much to the team when the team needed him the most. Stokes departed for a total of 53 runs, combining both innings (20 in 1st innings and 33 in 2nd innings). He was dismissed for a duck at Edgbaston, and that too, and the first ball he faced. Mohammad Siraj was the culprit who ended Stokes’ batting campaign for the Innings. With this, his batting average dropped to around 18 against India in England, while Jadeja has outshone him once again with a batting average of over 34 in Tests in England.

Ben Stokes has played 23 Test matches against India from 2014 to 2025. He has scored 1 century and 5 half-centuries. His average of 24.40 shows that while he has had some good knocks, India has generally kept him under control with the ball. Ravindra Jadeja has done well with the bat against England in Test matches. In 22 Tests, he has hit 2 centuries and 7 fifties. His average of 35.03 shows he’s been a reliable lower-order batter against England over the years.
