Ramiz Raja shares message for Pakistan’s critics as Babar & Co. eye Afghanistan scalp at T20 WC

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja has castigated the critics of the Babar Azam-led side after the Green Army defeated New Zealand to extend their winning run at the ICC World T20 2021. The newly appointed chairperson of the PCB had urged Babar & Co. to channel their anger in making the Green Army a world-class side after New Zealand abruptly ended their tour of Pakistan.

Since then, the Men In Green have managed to break the 29-year-old jinx by defeating India for the first time in a World Cup match. Babar & Co. also made a statement by outclassing the Black Caps in their previous fixture of the ICC World T20 at Sharjah. With Pakistan set to lock horns with Afghanistan in their next World Cup match on Friday, PCB chief Raja has shared a special message for Pakistan’s critics on Twitter.

“They are all watching. The one’s who said it is impossible to do it. The ones who want to watch you fail doing it. The ones who know that you can do it,” mentioned Raja in his latest post on the microblogging site. Raja’s noteworthy tweet has received a mixed response from the netizens on social media. The post shared by the PCB chief has already garnered over 8k likes on the microblogging site.

Before defeating Kane Williamson’s New Zealand in the low-scoring thriller at Sharjah, ruthless Pakistan had hammered Team India by 10 wickets to register the historic win over the traditional rivals at Dubai. Pakistan’s historic win over the Virat Kohli-led side was also Team India’s first 10-wicket defeat in T20I cricket.

Speaking to PCB after Pakistan’s stunning win over India, Raja had opened up about the cricketing ties between the two former world champions. “A lot of work needs to be done to revitalize Pakistan-India cricket but there needs to be some comfortable level between the two boards and then we can see how far we can go. So overall, we had a good discussion,” Raja said. Pakistan will lock horns with Afghanistan in match No.24 of the ICC World T20 2021 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
