Telugu mega power star Ram Charan, who recently wrapped up the shoot of SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR, is all set to play the lead in acclaimed filmmaker Shankar Shanmugham’s upcoming film. The project was announced on the eve of Valentine’s Day on February 12 this year. Since then, the news has taken over social media trends.
The much-anticipated film is tentatively called RC 15 and SVC 50. It will mark the first collaboration of Ram Charan and Shankar. Reportedly, Ram Charan will be seen playing dual roles in the film. RC 15 also features Anjali, Jayaram, Naveen Chandra, and comedy star Sunil has been roped in to play a supporting role.
SS Thaman has been roped for music and cinematography by Tirru. This is not the first time Thaman is working for a film in which Ram is starring. The combo gave hit films like Bruce Lee: The Fighter and Naayak. The project, which will go on floors soon. Let us take a look at all you need to know about RC 15 here.
Puja ceremony
Ram Charan-Shankar film went on floors with a formal puja ceremony in Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad on Wednesday. The event was attended by Chiranjeevi, Ranveer Singh, SS Rajamouli, Dil Raju, Naveen Chandra and other cast and crew members. The photos from the launch of RC15 went viral on the web. Ranveer Singh also looked dapper in a dark blue coloured suit and posed stunningly with Kiara and Ram Charan.
Kiara Advani
It was on Bollywood actress Kiara Advani’s birthday on July 31, 2021, when it was announced that she will star opposite Ram Charan in Shankar’s next. Recently, Shankar conducted the first photoshoot featuring Ram and Kiara. RC 15 marks the second association between Ram Charan and Kiara after Vinaya Vidheya Rama.
Lyricist Vivek
Popular lyricist Vivek Velmurugan has joined as one of the dialogue writers for Ram’s upcoming pan-Indian film. Vivek is popular for penning songs like Aalaporaan Thamizhan, Chumma Kizhi and Singappenney. The 36-year- old lyricist is also writing the additional screenplay and dialogues for Dhanush’s Maaran.
Dil Raju’s 50th film
The multi-starrer will be bankrolled by popular Telugu producer Dil Raju under his home banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. It will be simultaneously shot in five languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. RC 15 is also a landmark film for Raju as it is his 50th production venture. He has also bankrolled many films including Bommarillu, Parugu, Kotha Bangaru Lokam, Shatamanam Bhavati, and Srinivasa Kalyanam, among others.
