Ajay Devgn, who played the role of honest IRS officer Amay Patnaik in Raid, is now gearing up for the release of its sequel titled ‘Raid 2’. Riteish Deshmukh has also joined the star cast and will play the antagonist. ‘Raid 2’ will release in theatres on May 1, 2025.
Raid 2 will follow the similar storyline as its first part. In the sequel, Amay Patnaik will go against another corrupt politician as he raids his house but finds nothings. The plot will focus on how Amay will face the new challenges amid the corruption and difficulties around him.
The movie also stars Vaani Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak and Amit Sial. The first part starred Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles. Set in the 1980s, ‘Raid’ was based on a real-life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department under the Indian Revenue Service office in the 1980s.
On the work front, Ajay Devgn will be seen in ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ with Rakul Preet. Ajay will also return as a director and will work with Akshay Kumar. Earlier, while speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2024, he announced a new movie with Akshay Kumar and said, “This is something we were going to announce later but I think this is a great platform. We are already working on something together where I am directing the film and he is in the film.”
Ajay Devgn has also started shooting for ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ with Mrunal Thakur. He was last seen in Singham Again.
