While Pushpa 2: The Rule has achieved historic success as the highest-grossing film in Indian cinema, it has faced criticism from Telangana’s cinematography minister, Komatireddy. After watching the film, he expressed his dissatisfaction, stating that he felt he wasted three and a half hours of his time. “I could have traveled to ten places for work during those three and a half hours,” he remarked, emphasizing that he would only watch Telugu films that reflect mythological, historical, or cultural themes.
Concerns About Youth Influence
Komatireddy further criticized Pushpa 2, claiming that the film could negatively impact the youth. His comments highlight a growing concern among some officials regarding the influence of popular cinema on younger audiences.
In a separate but related event, Komatireddy announced a donation of Rs 25 lakh to the family of eight-year-old Sri Teja, who is currently receiving treatment at KIMS Hospital. He visited the hospital and presented a cheque to Sri Teja’s father, Bhaskar, through the Prateek Foundation.
Allu Arjun Responds To Allegations
In response to criticism from Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding his alleged negligence during the Sandhya theater stampede incident, Allu Arjun defended himself. Speaking to the press, he refuted the claims, stating that misinformation is leading to a misrepresentation of his character. “Such false or misrepresentation or misinformation is leading to my character assassination. Please don’t judge me; we feel the incident is an accident and an unfortunate one. We are hurt by how we are being projected in the scenario,” he said.
As Pushpa 2 continues to dominate the box office, the film’s reception has sparked significant debate among officials and the public. The contrasting views on its impact and the subsequent controversies surrounding its stars highlight the complex relationship between cinema and societal values.
