The Rule got embroiled in controversy after its lead actor Allu Arjun got arrested by Hyderabad Police in the stampede case, which led to the death of a 35-year-old woman. As a result, his film also could not perform well despite it being the weekend. On Friday, the film collected only Rs 36.4 crore. The actor was released the next day and the film’s box office numbers also rose after that. On Saturday, it collected Rs 63.3 Crore and On Sunday, it grossed a total of Rs 75 crore, taking the overall collection to 900.5 crore, reported Sacnilk.
The action-thriller, also featuring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in prominent roles was release in theatres on December 5. Ever since, it has been breaking new records every day. The film opened on a phenomenal note and collected 164.25 crore on day 1. The first week collection was Rs 725.8 crore.
It has become the fastest film to cross the Rs 1000 crore milestone, leaving all previous records in its dust. It is also the highest-grossing film on its opening weekend, setting a new benchmark for cinematic success. Not just that, it’s also the first film to sweep the international box office clean, conquering hearts and minds across the globe.
About Pushpa 2: The Rule
Made on a budget of whopping Rs 400-500 crores, Pushpa 2 is one of the most expensive productions of Indian cinema. It’s directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings with music on T-Series. The film was highly awaited after its first part, Pushpa 1: The Rise became a blockbuster in 2021. The movie was delayed multiple times due to technical reasons as well as clashes among the makers and cast.
Pushpa 2 OTT Release
After the film’s theatrical release, the next thing people want to know is its OTT release. While there is no official confirmation on the date, the film is expected to start streaming 6-8 weeks from the release day, on Netflix. Weeks ago, the streaming giant confirmed the same through an Instagram post, which read, “Pushpa is about to come out of hiding and he’s coming to RULE! 🌹🔥 Pushpa2: The rule is coming soon on Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi as a post theatrical release!”
