A man was arrested by the counter-intelligence team of Punjab Police. The unit also recovered five pistols from him which were allegedly supplied through cross-border networks.

The Punjab director General of Police put out a post, stating that the accused has been identified as Jodhbir Singh who is a native of Naushera in Tarn Taran district.

The DGP Punjab Police posted,”Acting on a specific tip-off, Counter Intelligence #Amritsar arrests Jodhbir Singh, resident of Naushera, #TarnTaran, and recovers 5 pistols, including two PX5 pistols, one .30 bore pistol (Star marked), and two 9mm Glock pistols from his possession.

Preliminary investigation reveals that Jodhbir Singh is in contact with a #Pakistan-based drug smuggler, who supplied illegal weapons.

An FIR is registered at #SSOC Amritsar, and further investigations are underway to apprehend other associates and trace all backward and forward linkages.@PunjabPoliceInd remains firmly committed to maintaining peace and harmony across the state.”

Before this, the Amritsar Rural Police arrested two operatives of the terror module along with weapons.
The DGP shared the information on X, saying “In a major success against terror networks, @AmritsarRPolice apprehends two operatives of the Jiwan Fauji terror module after a brief encounter near Ramdas, Amritsar Rural.

The accused — Vishal Masih and Lovepreet Singh @ Love, both residents of Jafarkot — opened fire at police personnel during a chase but were swiftly overpowered with controlled retaliatory action. Weapons and explosives were recovered from their possession.

An FIR under the Explosive Act and UAPA has been registered at PS Ramdas, and further investigation is underway to expose their entire network and prevent any terror activity.
