Punjab Assembly polls 2022: 13 Sikhs, 12 farmers in BJP’s first list of 34 candidates

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Friday, announced the first list of 34 candidates for the Punjab Assembly elections 2022- Punjab BJP in-charge Dushyant Gautam said.

Addressing a press conference, Tarun Chugh, BJP national general secretary said that tickets have been given to 12 candidates who belong to farmers’ families, eight tickets have been given to members of the SC community, 13 tickets to Sikhs. “The list has doctors, lawyers, sportspersons, farmers, youth, women & former IAS,” he added.

Candidates in BJP’s first list for Punjab Assembly elections 2022:

Baljinder Singh Dakoha – Hargobindpur (SC)
Sukhwinder Singh Pintu – Amritsar North
Navreet Singh Safipur – Tarn Taran

Mahinder Pal Bhagat – Jalandhar West
Manoranjan Kalia – Jalandhar Central
Krishna Dev Bhandari – Jalandhar North
Jangilal Mahajan – Mukerian
Raghunath Rana – Dasuya
Tikshan Sood – Hoshiarpur
Dilbag Rai – Chabbewal
Namisha Mehta- Gadhshankar

Punjab goes to the polls on February 20. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
