Malayalam movie ‘Pravinkoodu Shappu’ is all set to release on OTT after its theatrical run. Starring Soubin Shahir, Basil Joseph and Chemban Vinod Jose in the lead roles, the movie focuses on the investigation of a death at a shop and how 11 people becomes prime suspects.

Pravinkoodu Shappu OTT Release Date:

Pravinkoodu Shappu will release on SonyLiv on April 11, 2025. The movie will also be available to watch in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil.

Announcing the OTT release date, the makers wrote, “Get ready to step into a mystery that will pull you in, mess with your head, and refuse to let go. #PravinkooduShappu streaming from April 11 on Sony LIV.”

In an interview with OTTplay, Basil Joseph talked about his role in Pravinkoodu Shappu. He shared, “I have learnt the most from acting in this film. It’s a character for which I have taken maximum effort, to convincingly pull it off. Even during its dubbing, I had to spend days to get it right; it’s a police role that needed me to speak in a Thrissur accent. That said, it doesn’t follow the usual investigative thriller template and so, the police character needed a different mannerism. There are several other layers to the role as well – all of which made it exciting.”

He added , “Also, when you are working with Soubikka and Chemban chettan, the thought is how do you stand toe-to-toe with them, even in terms of size. When I am portraying Chemban chettan’s opponent, I had to show that through my attitude more than my physique. Those were the challenges, and I wanted to see how I could fit in, with the image that I have, with people who play raw characters.”

The movie also stars Chandini Sreedharan, Shivajith, and Shabareesh Varma in supporting roles.
