Varun Dhawan is currently busy with the shooting of his upcoming film Bawaal in Kanpur. Recently, he was spotted riding a bike without wearing helmet in the city, which was part of the film’s scene. For the same purpose, a bike owner Pramod Kumar lent his vehicle to the actor. However, since the actor has violated the traffic norms by not wearing a helmet while riding a bike, Kanpur Commissionerate fined bike owner with a e-challan.
The actor rode through the crowded streets of Kanpur, but in a controlled environment. However, Kanpur traffic police noted that the actor was not wearing a helmet and charged the bike owner.
Now, a fangirl of Varun met of police commissioner of Kanpur and demanded no action against the actor. Alka Mishra, fan of Varun Dhawan, gave a memorandum to the Police Commissioner on April 18 and demanded that action should be taken against actor’s team and not against Varun.
Currently, the Commissioner has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
Traffic officer Sankalp Sharma told Time of India, “Yes, our department has issued an e-challan of rupees one thousand against the name of Pramod Kumar and vehicle number UP35AZ1399 for flouting traffic rules. During a shoot of the film Bawaal, actor Varun Dhawan was found riding the same bike without wearing a helmet. For the offence we have issued a challan.”
He had also said, “since the permission of the shooting was taken, so the concerned person who provided the bike should be investigated and following action should be taken on the basis of it.’’
The line producer of the film, Rizwaan Akhtar informed, “The traffic police department of Kanpur Commissionerate has issued a challan in the name of Pramod Kumar, whose bike was used during the shoot of the film. The entire scene was shot in a controlled environment with all the permissions. Now when we have received the challan we will be paying the fine for it.”
Apart from Bawaal, Varun Dhawan has several projects lined up including Jug Jug Jeeyo along with Kiara Advani, Prajakta Koli and Anil Kapoor. He also has Bhediya alongside Kriti Sanon.
