Poland President Andrzej Duda Urges US To Transfer Nuclear Weapons To Counter Russian Aggression

Poland President Andrzej Duda urged United States President Donald Trump to transfer nuclear weapons to counter Russian aggression.

According to Reuters, Duda told a newspaper that he discussed the issue with Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg. Poland was worried since the war between Ukraine and Russia began.

Poland is of the view that Russia could invade Europe and it may target its territory. Duda believes that the US nuclear weapons are significant for the nation and they are ready to host US weapons under a nuclear arms sharing programme.

Polish policymakers are keen on the idea that French President Macron’s Paris nuclear umbrella could be extended to its European allies.

Meanwhile, Keith Kellogg has been excluded from high-level discussions aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, according to a report in NBC News.

The news outlet, citing a Russian official, said that Kellog did not attend the US-Russia summit in Riyadh on February 18 because Russian President Vladimir Putin thought the “former American general was too pro-Ukraine.”

The 80-year-old Kellog, who was confirmed as Trump’s envoy for the Russia-Ukraine peace in January, was also not present on Tuesday in Saudi Arabia for a meeting between US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and a Ukrainian delegation.
