The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban (PMAY-U) is a government initiative aimed at providing affordable homes to people in urban areas. Eligibility Criteria For PMAY-U 2.0

Economic Background

EWS (Economically Weaker Sections): Households with an annual income of up to ₹3 lakh.
LIG (Low Income Group): Households earning between ₹3 lakh and ₹6 lakh per year.
MIG (Middle Income Group): Households with an annual income between ₹6 lakh and ₹18 lakh.

Citizenship:

The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
Age Limit: There is no specific age limit, but the person applying should be an adult (18 years or older).

Own Land Or Space For Construction:

To apply for the scheme, you must have a piece of land or space where the house can be constructed. In some cases, the government also provides land to the eligible applicants under the scheme.

Preference For Certain Groups:

Priority is given to women, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), minorities, differently-abled individuals, and senior citizens.

Urban poor living in slums, people without proper housing, or those living in inadequate conditions are also given priority.
