Prime Minister Narendra Modi  attended Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh 2025, organised at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. PM Modi launched various youth-focused initiatives and felicitated 46 all-India toppers from Industrial Training Institutes. The event was the fourth edition of the National Skill Convocation. Addressing the students after felicitation, PM Modi extended heartiest congratulations to them, hailing India’s skill development sector.

PM Modi announced that two more major education and skill development projects have been launched for youth across the country. During the event, he also launched the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIS (PM-SETU), a centrally sponsored scheme with an investment of Rs 60,000 crore.

“A few years ago, our government started a new tradition of large-scale convocations for ITI students. Today, we are all witnessing another milestone in this tradition. I extend my best wishes to all the young ITI colleagues from every corner of India. Today’s ceremony symbolises the importance India places on skills. Today, two more major education and skill development projects have been launched for youth across the country,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi inaugurates Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur University

Inaugurating the Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur Skill University in Bihar to boost Industry-Oriented courses and Vocational Education, PM Modi highlighted Thakur’s contribution to the state. PM Modi reiterated that the double engine government is continuously engaged in modernising the educational institutions of Bihar.

“Karpoori Thakur wasn’t made ‘Jan Nayak’ by social media trolls. He was made ‘Jan Nayak’ by the people of Bihar, and they did so after observing his life. I would urge the people of Bihar to be vigilant. Nowadays, people are trying to steal even this title of ‘Jan Nayak’. Therefore, I urge the people of Bihar to be vigilant so that this honour bestowed upon Karpoori Thakur by the people is not stolen. The double engine government of NDA is continuously engaged in modernising the educational institutions of Bihar,” said PM Modi.

PM Modi appreciates Bihar Govt

He further appreciated Bihar government’s efforts towards student’s education through the Student Credit Card. Referring Bihar as a state with the highest youth population, PM Modi vouched on their potential strengthening the country.

“The Bihar government has been supporting children in pursuing higher education through the Student Credit Card. Now, another major decision has been taken. The education loan available through this credit card has been made interest-free. This is a decision of the Bihar government. Furthermore, scholarships for students have also been increased from Rs 1,800 to Rs 3,600. Today India is one of the world’s youngest countries, and Bihar is among the states with the highest youth population. Therefore, when the potential of Bihar’s youth increases, the strength of the country naturally increases as well,” added PM Modi.
