PM Modi Tears Into Mamta Banerjee; Says ‘People of Bengal Have Lost Faith in TMC Government’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, strongly criticised the Mamata Banerjee-led government in West Bengal. He accused the ruling party of taking away the rights and benefits meant for the poor. According to him, the government’s actions are driven by selfish political motives rather than concern for the people. “Bengal is suffering from widespread violence, lawlessness, insecurity among women, unemployment, and graft. Selfish politics of the ruling party in Bengal stripping poor people of their rightful entitlements,” PM Modi said at a rally in West Bengal’s Alipurduar.

Appeasement, Hooliganism

“Whatever happened in Murshidabad and Malda was an example of the government’s ruthlessness here… In the name of appeasement, hooliganism was given a free hand. Imagine the horrific situation when the people of a party running the government identify and burn people’s houses, and the police act as mere spectators. I ask the poor people of Bengal, is this how a government runs? Here, the court has to intervene on every issue. Otherwise, nothing gets resolved. The people of Bengal do not trust the TMC government anymore… ‘Bengal mein machi cheekh pukaar, nahi chahiye nirmam sarkar’,” said PM Modi

He also criticised the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government for showing enmity towards the poor, Dalits, Adivasis and women. “Politics should be set aside, but why is TMC showing enmity towards the poor, backwards Dalits, Adivasis and women?” he asked.

‘TMC is not accepting school job scam’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued his criticism of Mamata Banerjee’s government by mentioning a scam related to the hiring of school teachers. He referred to the Supreme Court’s decision that cancelled thousands of teacher appointments made by the West Bengal government, calling it an example of wrongdoing. “TMC regime is not ready to accept its mistakes in the school jobs scam. It is blaming courts and the judicial system,” the PM said. “TMC government’s corruption destroyed families and lives of teachers in Bengal.”
