Keeping up with his tradition of celebrating Diwali with the brave personnel of the Indian armed forces, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday visited INS Vikrant, the country’s first indigenously built aircraft carrier, off the coast of Goa and Karwar. He celebrated Diwali with the soldiers of the Indian Navy on INS Vikrant. He expressed his pride and joy in spending the festival with the armed forces. India is celebrating the festival of lights, Diwali today with great enthusiasm.

‘This Scene Is Memorable’ Says PM Modi

Addressing the soldiers, PM Modi said that on one side, he saw the endless sky and ocean, and on the other, the powerful INS Vikrant, symbolising strength. He compared the sunlight shining on the sea to Diwali lamps lit by the brave soldiers, calling it a special and memorable moment. “Today is an amazing day. This scene is memorable. Today, on one side, I have the ocean, and on the other, I have the strength of the brave soldiers of Mother India,” PM Modi said.

“Today, on one side I have infinite horizons, infinite sky, and on the other side I have this giant, INS Vikrant, embodying infinite powers. The glow of the sun’s rays on the ocean’s waters is like the Diwali lamps lit by brave soldiers,” he added.

PM Modi Expresses Gratitude

PM Modi further expressed his gratitude by saying that he felt fortunate to celebrate the sacred festival of Diwali with the courageous soldiers of the Indian Navy aboard INS Vikrant. “I am fortunate that this time I am celebrating this holy festival of Diwali among all you brave soldiers of the Navy,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi also shared his heartfelt experience from the night he spent aboard INS Vikrant, saying it was difficult to express in words. He admired the energy and enthusiasm of the Navy personnel, recalling how deeply moved he was by their spirit. PM Modi mentioned that he was deeply touched when he saw the soldiers singing patriotic songs, particularly those describing Operation Sindoor.

“The night spent yesterday on INS Vikrant is hard to put into words. I saw the immense energy and enthusiasm you all were filled with. When I saw you singing patriotic songs yesterday, and the way you described Operation Sindoor in your songs, no words can ever fully convey the experience that a jawan feels standing on a battlefield,” said PM Modi.
