Currently, Virat Kohli is not only the biggest cricketer of India but also of the world. He has established himself in the world of this game by scoring a lot of runs in a short span of time. Virat Kohli is often seen in a passionate manner on the field.

However, he has quarreled many times not only with the players but also with the spectators on the field. In the year 2012, Virat had once even requested the match referee not to ban him. He himself had narrated this incident.

Virat Kohli Was Trolled

In the year 2012, the Indian team toured Australia. During this time, Virat Kohli was fielding near the boundary line in the Sydney Test match. Virat had to face abuses from the Australian spectators. Virat also responded to the constant trolling by raising his finger.

However, this decision of Virat immediately led to a controversy. After this, the ICC deducted Virat’s match fee by 50 percent, citing conduct contrary to the spirit of the game.

Requested The Match Referee

In his interview to Wisden, Virat had revealed that he had requested the match referee not to ban him. He said, ‘When I got fed up with the Australian spectators, I decided to show them the finger. The match referee called me to his room the next day and I asked what the matter was? Then he asked me what happened on the boundary yesterday.

I told him nothing, it was just a little joke. Then he showed me my picture printed in the newspaper, in which I was showing the finger to the spectators. Then I told the match referee that I am sorry, please do not ban me’.
