Tamil movie ‘Perusu’ is all set to release on OTT platform after its theatrical run. Even though the movie did not do well at the box, Perusu gained critical acclaim. It is the official remake of the popular 2023 Sri Lankan Sinhalese movie ‘Tentigo’.

Perusu OTT Release Date:

Perusu will release on Netflix on April 11, 2025. Apart from Tamil language, the movie will also be available to watch in the dubbed version of Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

Announcing the news, Netflix India wrote on X, “Thatha’s last rites come with one final rise. Watch Perusu on Netflix, out 11 April in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.”

Perusu revolves around the funeral of an elderly man but things turn awkward after his two sons notice his erect penis. The family tries to deal with the situation discreetly but have to confront their strained relationship and reveal their dead father’s love life.

While speaking to Cinema Express, director Ilango Ram talked about the film’s plot and setting. He shared, “I am always particular about the setting in my films— Be it the people residing in the area or the way they conduct their weddings and festivals. If you look at Tentigo, the film reflects the people and their livelihood. It is only in India that you see a significant cultural difference between every state. Keeping this in mind, we worked intensely to bring a comedic flavour that would connect with the audience.”

The movie stars Vaibhav, Sunil Reddy, Niharika NM, Bala Saravanan, Redin Kingsley and Chandini Tamilarasan.
