There are only three days left for Pavitra Rishta 2‘s premiere! The show, which originally featured Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande, will start streaming on September 15. Unfortunately due to Sushant’s demise (last year on June 14), the makers of Pavitra Rishta had to find a new face for Manav’s character. For the unaware, Shaheer Sheikh will be seen essaying the role of Manav in Pavitra Rishta 2.

Ahead of its digital premiere,  an exclusive interaction with Shaheer. In conversation with us, the actor was asked if he was sceptical about taking up the show while thinking that he might get compared to Sushant.

To which, the actor said, “I knew that the expectations are going to be very high. Because you know, it was such a big hit and everyone’s performance was good.  Of course comparison to tha hi, hona hi tha. More than that I was nervous because I was not sure if I would be able to do justice to it.”

Continuing on the same topic, Sheikh added, “For an actor, the biggest worry or the biggest scare is will I be able to do justice to it. So that, of course, crossed my mind but the makers, the producers and the network, they were quite convinced. Because they had seen my previous work and they thought I will be able to manage and pull it off so their confidence in me gave me the confidence I guess

Further, we asked Shaheer about the ice-breaking moment between him and his co-star Ankita Lokhande. And pat came his reply, “My ice-breaker (moment) with Ankita was our first photoshoot only. The pictures came out so well that both of us were surprised. That it is so effortless, it is so organic and everyone was happy with the photoshoot itself that they felt that the casting is right.

Meanwhile, on the personal front, Shaheer and his wife Ruchikaa Kapoor have reportedly welcomed their first child, a baby girl. While the grapevine is abuzz with the good news, neither Shaheer nor Shaheer have opened up about the same on social media. Only a few days ago, Shaheer had hosted a grand baby shower for his wife.

The actor, who is currently seen in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi 3, got married to Ruchikaa last year in November. Their court marriage was attended by Shaheer’s co-star Supriya Pilgaonkar.
