The Passport Seva portal, which was temporarily down for a few days for technical maintenance, is now back online earlier than expected.

The official Passport Seva website on September 2 announced that after finishing technical maintenance ahead of schedule, the Seva portal and GPSP are now up and running from 7:00 PM IST on September 1, 2024. The system is now available for citizens and all relevant authorities.

The Passport Seva official website announced that appointments scheduled for August 30, 2024, will be rescheduled, and applicants will be notified.

Fake Websites Active During This Time

The Ministry of External Affairs has warned that many fake websites and apps are charging high fees to collect data from applicants for filling out online forms and booking passport appointments.

The Ministry has noticed that many fake websites and apps are collecting applicant data and charging high fees for filling out online forms and booking passport appointments. Some of these fraudulent sites use domain names like .org, .in, and .com, such as www.indiapassport.org, www.online-passportindia.com, www.passportindiaportal.in, www.passport-india.in, www.passport-seva.in, and www.applypassport.org, among others.

The ministry advises all citizens applying for Indian passports and related services to avoid the fraudulent websites mentioned and not make any payments through them. The official website for passport services is www.passportindia.gov.in.

Applicants can also use the official mPassport Seva mobile app, available for download on Android and iOS app stores.
