Parth Samthaan Reveals Why He First Rejected The Role Of ACP In CID: ‘Felt A Bit Unusual And Awkward’

After the confirmation of Parth Samthaan for his new role as ACP Ayushman in CID, it has left everyone debating about the new changes brought to the show. Talking to Hindustan Times, Parth said he was in doubt about playing the iconic character of ACP. He is all set to return to television after an almost five-year hiatus. He said, “Initially, I rejected the role of ACP Pradyuman because I don’t relate to it. But the makers asked me to reconsider. I was also hesitant due to the show’s long-standing cast and the fact that they’d have to address me as ‘sir’ on screen. It felt a bit unusual and awkward.”

Parth’s joining the show has brought mixed reactions from the audience; Shivaji’s diehard fans are not pleased with his entrance. Throughout this, Parth focused on the positive sides of this new beginning and return. He reacted, “I was waiting for the right opportunity to make my comeback on TV. I was offered a few scripts, but they were all similar romantic roles. When this show was offered to me, I decided to take on the challenge,”

Speaking about balancing other commitments with the TV shows, Parth shared, “The team is very cooperative, and if any conflicts arise, I discuss it with the producers.”

For those who are unaware of Parth Samthaan, here is a short introduction. He began his career by acting in the youth-centric serials Gumrah: End of Innocence and Best Friends Forever. He gained massive popularity after starring Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan and Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Parth has also appeared in some Bollywood films like Hamare Baraah and Ghudchadi in 2023.
