Neeraj Chopra unleashed a powerful throw to secure his spot in the men’s javelin final. With a remarkable throw of 89.34 meters, he entered the final, marking his best performance on the global stage. The defending champion achieved his personal best with his very first throw at the Paris Games.

During the qualification event, fellow Indian athlete Kishore Jena threw 80.73 meters in Group A, but it was not enough to qualify for the final

Kenya’s Julius Yego and the Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch automatically qualified for the final with impressive throws of 85.97 meters and 85.63 meters, respectively. Germany’s Julian Weber also qualified with a throw of 87.76 meters.

All athletes who surpassed 84 meters automatically qualified for the final.

At the Paris Olympics 2024, the men’s javelin throw event consists of two rounds: a qualification round and the final medal round. A total of 32 athletes are competing in the men’s event. The qualification round is divided into two groups, A and B. To secure a spot in the final, athletes must achieve a throw of 84.00 meters, meeting the Olympic entry standard.

Earlier year, Neeraj Chopra achieved a throw of 88.36 meters in Doha and won the Paavo Nurmi Games with a throw of 85.97 meters.
