Pakistan’s Khalistani Sikh leader praises Taliban, tells Sikhs of Afghanistan to not leave the country

Pakistan’s Khalistani Sikh leader and ISI stooge Gopal Singh Chawla heaped praises on the Taliban and urged the Sikhs residing in Afghanistan to not leave their country.

In a video message uploaded on Facebook on Saturday, Chawla mentioned about Taliban’s assurance to the Sikh leaders and said they must stay there and take care of gurudwara.

In the video message, Chawla said, “Taliban brothers, we are happy that you have taken control of Afghanistan in your hands. The way you have shown your love for Sikhs, they will also reciprocate the same”.

Minorities respected in Pakistan: Gopal Singh Chawla

Chawla further urged the Taliban to provide safety to the minority communities including Sikhs, Hindus and Christians.

He further said that if the Sikhs want to leave the country then they should come to Pakistan as minorities there are respected and not persecuted and there is religious freedom.

Chawla wants the Sikhs of Afghanistan to believe that there is “religious freedom” in Pakistan. However, on Tuesday, a nine-foot-tall cold bronze statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh was vandalised once again by an activist of the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

This is the third ime the statue has been targeted. The arm of the statue was broken in Lahore last year and was also damaged in August 2019.

This statement from Chawla comes after a delegation of Taliban leaders met members of the Sikh community in Afghanistan and provided reassurance of safety.

Over three hundred Hindus and Sikhs are reportedly taking shelter at the Karte Parwan Gurudwara in Kabul.

MHA to prioritize visa process for Afghan Hindus and Sikhs

Earlier today, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee denied that Sikhs living in Afghanistan have been kidnapped by the Taliban.

Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee chairman Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “All our families are safe inside the Gurdwara, although there was some movement yesterday. Around 300 people are absolutely safe.”

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has already announced that it will prioritize the visa process for Afghan Hindus and Sikhs under the newly introduced “e-Emergency X-Misc Visa” and will be processed quickly so that they can arrive in India at the earliest.
