Pakistani Movie Set To Be Released In India After Years, MNS Leaders Ready To Break Bones

The turbulence at the borders reached the cinema and in 2016 the exchange of art and artists was banned after the Uri attack. Taking into consideration the safety and nationality post-attack, the Indian Motion Picture Producer’s Association made a rule and banned Pakistani artists. Celebrities like Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan haven’t entered the Indian soil since then.

Now, after eight years, a Pakistani movie that has garnered praise across Pakistan is set to be released in India soon. It was possible only after October 2023 when the Bombay High Court removed the ban to promote cultural harmony, unity and peace.

‘The Legend Of Maula Jatt’ to be released

The blockbuster movie starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, ‘The Legend Of Maula Jatt’ which was released in the neighbouring country in 2022 is set to come on screen in India very soon. Indian fans are eagerly waiting to watch their favourite stars across borders but it doesn’t look like going well with MNS.

MNS leader warns of consequences

MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) leader Ameya Khopkar who also happens to be an Indian film producer has given a stern warning against this movie release. In his interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Ameya said that in the situation when India is being hit by terrorism, Indian soldiers are being killed frequently in the Valley, we cannot let this movie be released. “Don’t we make good movies in India? Don’t we have great artists here?”, he questioned in response.

Recalling the Mumbai attack of 26/11, he asked, “How will the family of those bravehearts who lost their lives in the Mumbai attack feel when they see the movie on screen?” Being clear on his stance as an MNS leader, he said that the release won’t happen in India and if the Pakistani artists want to come, their arms and legs will be broken if they reach Indian soil.
