In a recent budget session, India allocated Rs 6.81 lakh crore for defense in the 2025-2026 fiscal year, which is 9.5 percent higher than last year’s Rs 6.21 lakh crore budget. According to reports, the budget accounts for approximately 13.4 percent of the central government’s total expenditure.

Following the budget announcement, news of India’s defense budget went viral, and neighboring country Pakistan expressed concerns over India’s defense spending, believing it would strengthen both its manpower and defense equipment.

Reports state that former Pakistani defense personnel, Gulam Mustafa, expressed his concerns over the budget. He emphasized that India’s defense budget poses a direct threat to Pakistan.

According to Mustafa, India aims to establish itself as a “Akhand Bharat,” referring to a unified India, which he views as a direct threat to neighboring countries, including Afghanistan.

Mustafa further stated that India has operations in oceans from Indonesia to Malaysia, and that India has also strengthened its naval forces. He concluded that while India may not need to occupy oceans, it seeks control to overpower Pakistan. In 2023, India employed more than 1.47 lakh troops in its armed forces.
