Pakistan defence minister Khawaja Asif claimed that India could strike Pakistan at any moment. Asif said India would take military action at the Line of Control (LoC). Asif once again called India’s allegations “concocted” in the Pahalgam attack and stated that “Indian PM Narendra Modi has pushed the region toward nuclear war to take political advantage.”
‘Pakistani forces will respond in full force’
While talking to reporters in Islamabad, Asif said, “ Pakistani forces will respond in full force to any aggression from the Indian side.” Asif’s already threatened India with Nuclear arms, stating that they would use it if there is a threat to their existence.”
‘Open to any neutral and transparent probe’
The Pak defence minister said Pakistan is open to any “neutral and transparent” probe. He said India should give evidence of the involvement of Pakistan in the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives on April 22.
‘India will likely carry out its limited misadventure’
On the other hand, former Pakistan envoy to India, Abdul Basit predicted that India could strike on Pakistan after Victory Day celebrations in Russia.
In April, the Pakistani defence minister made a huge admission by stating that Pakistan has been funding and backing terror groups in a viral video clip.

In a video clip that has now gone viral, Pakistan’s defence minister was in conversation with Sky News’s Yalda Hakim, when she asks him, ” But you do admit, you do admit, sir, that Pakistan has had a long history of backing and supporting and training and funding these terrorist organisations?
‘We have been doing this dirty work for the United States for about 3 decades’
Khwaja Asif in his reply says, “We have been doing this dirty work for the United States for about 3 decades… and the west, including Britain…That was a mistake, and we suffered for that, and that is why you are saying this to me. If we had not joined the war against the Soviet Union and later on the war after 9/11, Pakistan’s track record was unimpeachable.”
Pahalgam terror attack
On April 22, terrorists attacked tourists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, killing 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen while leaving several others injured. It was noted that this attack came in the wake of the successful holding of elections in the Union Territory and its steady progress towards economic growth and development.
