Travel and hospitality major OYO said it acquired Denmark-based home operator Bornholmske Feriehuse for an undisclosed deal value.
The OYO statement said that Bornholmske Feriehuse has 737-holiday homes spread across 30 holiday parks and expects to clock 2.5 lakh guest nights in 2022. OYO’s subsidiary DanCenter carried out the transaction through the Danish government’s ‘Invest in Denmark’ initiative, which facilitates investments by foreign companies in Danish companies, the statement added.
“Bornholm exhibits great potential for tourism in the coming years,” OYO founder and Group CEO Ritesh Agarwal said, according to PTI.
Based out of f Bornholm island and founded by Rasmus Lund and Jacob Lund in 2020, Bornholmske Feriehuse is a full-stack operator which provides end-to-end solutions to homeowners.
The statement further added that Rasmus Lund will continue as a director and expand operations further. He said the collaboration with OYO through DanCenter gives the opportunity to keep up with demand, just as homeowners also benefit from the many online portals that DanCenter collaborates with.
OYO further said that going ahead holiday homes on the platform of Bornholmske Feriehuse will be available for booking through more than 130 online portals with DanCenter works closely.
In the Europe region, OYO already has a presence in Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Croatia. In May 2022, the company acquired Croatia-based Direct Broker, which has 3,200 homes and a track record of servicing 20 lakh.
