Ousted Syrian president Bashar al-Assad has been reportedly poisoned in Moscow. Bashar was living under the shelter of Russia from December 9 after he was removed from the presidential position by the rebels in Russia. A social media account named General SVR, which is run by a former spy in Russia had claimed that Bashar had fallen ill in Moscow on Sunday. He asked for medical help and began to ‘cough violently and choke.’ The ‘X’ account further claimed that it was a possible assassination attempt on the former Syrian president.

Reports have claimed that Bashar al-Assad was treated at his home in Moscow and his condition had stabilised by Monday. The tests that were conducted showcased a poison substance in his body, though, no official statement has been released into the matter either by Syria or by Moscow. As per a report by The Sun, the assassination attempt to kill Bashar al-Assad was made in his own apartment and has caused widespread alarm. The speculations have also started regarding the plotters of Bashar al-Assad’s assassination attempt and have raised a question does the present Syrian leadership want to kill Assad or is there any other motive behind the incident.
