OTT Releases In August 2025: Sitaare Zameen Par To Wednesday Season 2, Movies And Web Series Arriving Online This Month

Get ready for an exciting August 2025! OTT platforms, like Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar and more, are gearing up to roll out several movies and shows to cater to a diverse audience. This month, the viewers can look forward to the release of much-anticipated projects like ‘Wednesday Season 2’ and ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. Here’s the curated list of movies and web series releasing on the OTT platforms this month.

Mickey 17
‘Mickey 17’ focuses on a disposable employee, who is sent on a human expedition to colonise the ice world Niflheim. The movie stars Robert Pattinson in the title role with Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Patsy Ferran, Cameron Britton, Daniel Henshall, Stephen Park, Anamaria Vartolomei, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo. It will release on August 7, 2025, on JioHotstar.

Wednesday Season 2 Part 1
‘Wednesday’ focuses on Wednesday Addams, a 13-year-old girl with psychic abilities, who enrols in a new school called Nevermore Academy. Things soon turn dark after Wednesday witnesses a killing spree and decides to solve the mystery behind it. Its second season stars Jenna Ortega in the title role. Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, Naomi J. Ogawa, and Moosa Mostafa will reprise their roles from the previous season. Its first part will release on Netflix on August 6, 2025.

Arabia Kadali
Arabia Kadali revolves around a group of fishermen from rival villages, who trespass into international waters and find themselves imprisoned in a foreign jail. This Telugu web series will release on Prime Video on August 8.

Saare Jahan Se Accha
Saare Jahan Se Accha stars Pratik Gandhi, Sunny Hinduja, Suhail Nayyar, Kritika Kamra, Tillotama Shome, Rajat Kapoor and Anup Soni. The show will delve into the high-stakes world of intelligence, where the slightest delay in relaying critical information could alter the nation’s fate. It will release on Netflix on August 13, 2025.

Sitaare Zameen Par
Sitaare Zameen Par stars Aamir Khan and Genelia D’souza in the lead roles. Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharmaa, Naman Misra, Rishi Shahani, Ashish Pendse, Samvit Desai, Simran Mangeshkar, Aayush Bhansali, Dolly Ahluwalia, Gurpal Singh, Brijendra Kala, Zeenat Hussain and Nikhat Khan are seen in pivotal roles. The movie focuses on a man who has to serve community service by coaching a basketball team with neurodivergent adults. Instead of being released on OTT platforms after theatres, the movie will be released on YouTube on August 1.

Housefull 5
‘Housefull 5 stars Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, and Soundarya Sharma in the lead roles. The movie is set against the backdrop of a luxury cruise ship, where a billionaire dies. He leaves his fortune to a man named Jolly, but three men claim to be Jolly to get the wealth. However, these men and their partners become the prime suspects. According to reports, ‘Housefull 5’ will release on Prime Video on August 1.

Maa
‘Maa’ stars Kajol in the lead role with Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma seen in the pivotal roles. The movie revolves around a mother who goes to great lengths to save her daughter from a demon. According to reports, ‘Maa’ will release on Netflix in August 2025.
