Virat Kohli retired from T20Is in June 2024 after India won the ICC T20 World Cup but what shocked the fans is this year Kohli announced his sudden retirement from Test cricket. Having being retired from two formats now, Virat’s appearance will be very limited and he’ll be only seen playing the ODI Format.

Virat Kohli Most Likely To Play 2027 World Cup

Kohli has made it pretty clear that he will be playing the 2027 ODI World Cup and its now safe to say that he’ll not be hanging on any further. This likely means that its just two more years to watch Virat Kohli play, even former Indian coach Ravi Shastri feels the same sentiment.

Kohli To Completely Vanish From Cricket?

In an RCB event not so long ago, Virat Kohli mentioned “Once I’m gone, I’ll be gone. You won’t see me for a while.” The line which left many fans shocked and Shastri also feels that when Virat Kohli leaves he will not linger in exhibition games, any leagues or IPL, or take up the coaching responsibility. According to Shastri, Kohli will completely vanish after full-retirement.

Ravi Shastri On Virat Kohli’s Future

“He is still around to serve Indian cricket in ODIs, but I also know that Virat will walk away from the game once he is done playing cricket. He is not the kind who would like to coach or take on the role of a broadcaster. I will miss him when India plays its first Test in England. He was a champion, and that is what I would like to remember – never conceding an inch,” Shastri told Sportstar.
