Former England captain Michael Vaughan has transformed into a full-time pundit who keeps a close eye on developments in world cricket, all across the world. Vaughan remains quite vocal over his interpretation of cricketing affairs. In an interview, Vaughan was asked which Mumbai Indians player he would like to play for England. The former England skipper had a clear answer.

Mumbai Indians have some of the finest players in their squad, both Indian and foreign. Quinton de Kock, Kieron Pollard, Trent Boult, etc. are among the finest players when it comes to white-ball cricket while Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya are all important members of the Indian team, especially in white-ball cricket.

Picking one player from these remains incredibly tough. When Vaughan was posed with the question by Crictracker, he picked the name of MI skipper Rohit.

Answer: Rohit Sharma, across all the formats.

Vaughan was also asked about the skipper under whose captaincy he would’ve liked to play in the Indian Premier League. Even there, the England great had picked Rohit over the likes of Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.

“Rohit Sharma. Mumbai Indians, the best T20 team in the world without any question. He is a magnificent leader; he is calm and composed; his strategies are very clever and I could see myself next to Rohit,” said Vaughan.

Rohit remains the most successful player in the history of IPL, having won the title 6 times in total (5 as the captain of Mumbai Indians and once as a member of the now-defunct Deccan Chargers team).

Rohit is also labelled by many as the finest T20 captain in the world. Though Rohit has only had the opportunity to lead Mumbai Indians in IPL on a regular basis, he has showcased his captaincy credentials on a number of occasion in the Indian team too
