Nitish Kumar takes oath as Rajya Sabha MP, speculations over new Bihar CM heightens

Nitish Kumar took oath as a Rajya Sabha member on Friday which signalled his exit from the state politics and offered a new way for a new structure to run the government.

Ceremony Attended by Senior Leaders

This oath-taking ceremony was also attended by Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary, who arrived in New Delhi for this.

Moreover, former BJP chief JP Nadda, and several senior political leaders attended the Oath-taking ceremony. Vice-President Chandrapuram Ponnusami Radhakrishnan, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal were also present there.

Nitish Kumar’s Statement on Resignation

One day before entering into Rajya Sabha, Nitish travelled to Delhi, and also confirmed that he would step down as the Chief Minister soon. Moreover, while explaining about his decision he said to the reporters that he has completed his work in the state and now will focus on his responsibilities in Delhi.

He said, “I have accomplished a lot of work in Bihar. Now I felt that I should remain here,”

Moreover, he also said that he will step down from his role of CM in the next 3-4 days. “I will step down from my role there and work here. I will resign in three or four days. New individuals will be appointed as Chief Minister and Ministers,” said

Nitish Kumar’s Political Journey

Nitish Kumar is the longest-serving Chief Minister of Bihar. He began his political journey as an MLA in 1985 and also served as a Union Minister during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. Nitish Kumar first became the CM of Bihar in 2005. Also, his experience makes him one of the most experienced and senior political leaders of India.
