All Indian citizens are required by law to have a mandatory government-approved identification card to stay in the country legally. In India, such identification cards include Aadhaar and PAN cards. The Government of India continues to work on improving the system to prevent various cases of fraud, scams, immigration issues, etc. The rules are regularly updated. Recently, in a significant move against fraud and scams, new rules have been introduced by the Government of India.
What Is The New Rule?
Among the new amendments, there is one particularly important rule that citizens must follow. In the new rules for PAN cards, all the Indian citizens are warned to link their PAN cards to Aadhaar before December 31, 2024. If you fail to link your PAN-Aadhaar, the government will deactivate your PAN Cards. To avoid any complications, PAN card holders must ensure their cards are updated according to the latest guidelines.
