‘Never Supplied Ghee To Tirupati Temple’: Amul Responds Amid Laddu Controversy

Amid rising tensions over the Tirupati Laddu row, Indian Dairy Brand Amul stated  that they never supplied ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) for the preparation of laddus. The statement was made after the Telugu Desam Party raised allegations of using ‘animal fat’ in prasad offered to Lord Venkateswara during the previous Jagan Reddy government.

In a post on the micro-blogging platform X, Amul said that their ghee is of the purest form and the best quality, made from milk at its ISO-certified production units. They assured that every drop of milk reaching the dairies undergoes strict quality and adulteration tests as mandated by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

Amul wrote on X, “We have been the most trusted ghee brand for more than 50+ years and has always played an important part in Indian homes.

A R Dairy Food Private Limited Rejects Adulteration Allegations

AR Dairy, a Tamil Nadu-based company, which supplied ghee to the Tirupati temple condemned the claims of using animal fat in ghee. The Managing Director Rajasekaran Raju stated that the company used only cow milk for its ghee products and every batch is strictly-tested. The Dindigul firm said that they only supplied ghee during June and July and every batch had reports from accredited laboratories.

CM Naidu Announces Switch To Nandini Brand

In a public meeting in Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday criticized the former government for allegedly bringing low-quality ghee for TTD at low prices. He said that they have changed the ghee supplier and switched to the Nandini brand from Karnataka.
