Netizens Accuse Vidya Balan To Forward Paid Tweet In Support Of Rohit Sharma, Team Reacts

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has been in the eyes of the trollers ever since there has been a drop in his form. Rohit was excluded from Team India’s playing XI for the IND vs AUS 5th Test due to his poor form in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The latter only scored 31 runs from three games and his decisions came under scrutiny which resulted in the loss of the India national cricket team. While Rohit claimed that he took a rest from the match in favour of the team whereas his fans trolled the Indian management on social media. One such person was the famous Bollywood actress Vidya Balan

However, Vidya Balan was accused of forwarding a post which was given by the PR team of Rohit Sharma.

The major reason behind the outburst of the fans was her negligence in posting about cricket on social media and claiming that it was a paid tweet. Also, in an interview, Vidya Balan had stated that Sachin Tendulkar is her favourite cricketer, due to which the social media users were also.

Amidst all the ruckus, Vidya Balan’s team has responded to all the allegations while speaking to Hindustan Times. Vidya’s team dismissed all the claims and stated that the post was shared by Vidya herself as she was left touched by the gesture of the Indian captain which he showed during the IND vs AUS 5th Test.

Vidya Balan’s Team Reacts

The statement read, “Let it be unequivocally stated that Ms Balan posted this completely of her own volition because she was moved by his selfless act, and NOT by request from his PR team. Ms.Balan is not an avid sports fan, but she is a fan of those who show dignity and class under trying circumstances. To attribute her actions to anything other than a spontaneous reaction to something she found admirable is completely preposterous.”

Team India ended up losing the fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 by a margin of 3-1. This was the first time since 2017 that the Indian team lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
