Neeraj Chopra, who won a silver medal in javelin throw at the Paris Olympics, shared his thoughts on his performance and the competition. Speaking to ANI, Chopra acknowledged the challenge of the event, stating, “Every athlete has their day; today was Arshad’s day. I gave my best, but there are areas to improve. Although our national anthem wasn’t played today, it will be played in the future.”

Chopra expressed disappointment with his technique and run-up, attributing part of his struggle to a groin injury that limited his training. “The last two years have been tough due to injuries. I need to focus on my technique and recovery,” he admitted.

Neeraj Chopra’s Mother Reacts With Pride And Grace

In contrast to his reserved tone, Chopra’s mother, Saroj Devi, radiated warmth and grace. She expressed joy over Neeraj’s silver and praised gold medalist Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan. Devi remarked, “I am happy with the silver; the gold winner (Arshad) is also our child. Everyone achieves success through hard work.”

Devi also revealed plans to prepare churma, Neeraj’s favorite dish, to celebrate his return. “We will give him a grand welcome and make churma for him,” she said.

Neeraj’s Father Hails Nadeem’s Win

Neeraj’s father, Satish Chopra, noted that the day belonged to Pakistan, recognizing Nadeem’s record-breaking throw of 92.97 meters. Satish also highlighted that Neeraj’s injury might have impacted his performance. “It was Pakistan’s day, but we are proud of Neeraj’s silver. His success will inspire future generations,” Satish added.

The Chopra family’s comments have resonated deeply with fans, showcasing their sportsmanship and familial pride.
