Dhanush returned to the director’s chair with his coming-of-age film ‘Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam: A Usual Love Story’, shortened as ‘Neek’. The movie had hype before its release but did not generate good box office collection as per its expectations. However, it has now been creating buzz due to its OTT release.
Neek OTT Release Update:
According to a report by Pinkvilla, Neek will release on Amazon Prime Video. The official OTT release date of Neek has not been announced yet but it is reported that the movie will arrive online on March 21.
The movie stars Pavish Narayan and Mathew Thomas in the lead roles, alongside Anikha Surendran, Priya Prakash Varrier, R. Sarathkumar, Venkatesh Menon, Rabiya Khatoon and Ramya Ranganathan.
While speaking to OTTplay, Pavish revealed how Dhanush taught him and the cast while directing. He said, “Dhanush sir was very patient and he understands what an actor goes through in their first film. There were scenes in which we took our own sweet time, and him being an actor is why he gave us the space.”
He added, “There have been times when I see him acting, and I forget to observe and simply enjoy him acting unconsciously. Later, I began taking videos so that I can use that material to do my homework.”
Dhanush sir uses this word called subtle. I understood that subtle acting can relate to a lot of people. Like Thiruchitrambalam, VIP and Yaaradi Nee Mohini. After sir said this, I have been noticing people where we don’t really act so big even if we are surprised. People are subtle these days and he has taught us that,” he further shared.
Neek revolves around a heartbroken young man, who agrees to be in an arranged marriage situation. His ex-girlfriend enters his life again after he agrees to get married.
