Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri’s sister Aliya has reportedly been arrested for allegedly murdering her ex-boyfriend and his female friend. This incident happened in Queens, New York last month. The ‘Rockstar’ actor is yet to officially comment on the case but according to the latest buzz, she is not in touch with her sister for over 20 years.

According to a report by India Today, Nargis learned about the incident on the news like everyone else. A source close to the actress revealed that she has ‘nothing to clarify’ on this matter.

Meanwhile, her mother, while speaking to the New York Daily News expressed disbelief and said, “I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person caring for everybody.”

The deceased persons have been identified as Edward Jacobs (35), Aliya’s ex-boyfriend, and Anastasia Ettienne (33). She has reportedly been on murder in the first degree and related charges.

According to a statement from Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, Aliya allegedly started the fire in the detached garage near the entrance of Jacobs’ home. Both the victims allegedly passed away due to smoke inhalation and burns. Aliya reportedly shouted at Edward, “You’re all going to die properly”. 

Katz said in her statement, “Soon after, a witness who was inside the property came downstairs and discovered that the building was on fire. Ettienne was alerted to the fire and went downstairs briefly. The woman then returned upstairs in an attempt to save Jacobs, who was sleeping. The building became engulfed with flames and neither Jacobs nor Ettienne could escape.” 

According to reports, Aliya has faced four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of second-degree murder and one count each of first and second-degree arson. Her next court appearance is scheduled for December 9.

Nargis has yet to comment on these accusations against her sister.
