Actress Arzoo Govitrikar, who is known for the TV show Naagin 2 and the movie Baghban, has filed for divorce from her husband Siddharth Sabharwal. Arzoo had filed a case of domestic violence against her husband in 2019 and in the same, she had claimed that Siddharth had dragged her into a bathroom at 4 am and hit her badly. She has now taken the legal route as reconciliation doesn’t seem possible with Siddharth.
In an interaction, Arzoo, who is Aditi Govitrikar’s sister, confirmed the same and said that enough is enough. “I swallowed my pride; I tried, and I tried my best. But matters came to a head and I couldn’t continue with Siddharth,” she shared.
She further told ETimes, “I want to tell you that he has pulled me by my neck and tried to throw me out of the flat. He has slapped me. He has kicked me in my stomach. There were days when I was beaten up black and blue and I couldn’t come out because I didn’t want my bruises to be seen.”
Arzoo also claimed that her husband hurled casteist abuses at her. Talking about where it all began, the actress shared that her husband first raised his hand on her two years after their marriage.
She also accused Siddharth of infidelity and said, “After our son was born three years after we became man and wife, he simply drifted apart. He started sleeping in another room. After that, I found out that he has a Russian girlfriend; he was constantly on chats with her. I confronted him about her. I don’t know if they’re together now because he stays separately. Mind you, I have those chats and the CCTV footage of his violence and it would help me to get justice.”
The actress went on to share that her husband became more “aggressive” when she told him that things are not working between them and added that Siddharth does not pay her sufficient maintenance. Stating that no woman wants to break her marriage, she went on to say, “The gaalis, violence and infidelity had become unbearable.”
Further, when the publication contacted Siddharth on the matter, he said that let Arzoo say what she wants, he doesn’t want to say anything.
Arzoo and Siddharth tied the knot in 2010 after a brief courtship period and have a son together.
