Mumbai drugs on cruise case: NCB summons CEO of Cordelia Cruises

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has summoned the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cordelia Cruises in connection with the drug bust case on a cruise ship of the company. The anti-narcotics agency has asked the cruise liner’s CEO to join the probe.

The NCB has also sought the details of the passengers on the Goa-bound ship. The agency is also scanning the CCTV footage of the ship in order to get more evidence in connection with the probe.

NCB teams from other zones are also assisting the agency in the cruise drug bust case, a report in PTI quoted an official as saying.

So far, 16 persons have been arrested by NCB including son Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan. Four organisers of a Delhi-based event company have also been arrested by the agency.

After the raid on the cruise ship, NCB has launched a crackdown on drug peddlers in connection with the case.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the cruise ship company issued a statement distancing itself from the entire episode.

“Cordelia cruises in no way directly or indirectly connected to the incident. The company has chartered its ship for a private event to a Delhi-based event management company,” PTI reported Jurgen Bailom, CEO and President, Waterways Leisure Tourism Private.

The company further said it condemns all such acts and will strictly refrain from letting their ship out for similar events in the future.

The cruise company further said it is extending all cooperation to authorities in the probe.
