Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, addressed the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0 – Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025’ in Guwahati on Tuesday, February 25. During his address, the billionaire praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. During the Summit, Ambani said that the Reliance Industries has invested Rs 12,000 crore in the state since 2018. He said, “At the 2018 investment summit, I announced an investment of Rs 5,000 crore. Since then, the investments have crossed Rs 12,000 crore. This amount will quadruple, and we will invest Rs 50,000 crore in the next five years.”

Mukesh Ambani praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that his visionary leadership is the greatest advantage for the people of Assam and India as a whole. Furthermore, he highlighted four key benefits that PM Modi has brought to Assam over the past 11 years.

“You have brought Assam and the rest of North-East from the periphery to the centre of India’s developmental map. You have yourself visited the North-East over 70 times – more than any other prime minister in the past,” said Ambani. He added, “You have given an inspiring new mantra to Assam ─ ‘Act EAST, Act FAST, and Act FIRST’. Assam indeed has the potential to develop so fast that the South-East Asia and the East Asia will begin to look westwards towards Assam as the land of growth opportunities.”

“You have heralded an unprecedented era of Connectivity Revolution in Assam and North-East. Not only Physical connectivity. Not only Digital connectivity. And Not only Developmental connectivity. But above all, you have promoted EMOTIONAL CONNECTIVITY between the people of this region and the rest of India,” said Ambani, highlighting PM Modi’s vision.

“You (PM Modi) have made technology the main driver of development. Because of the popularity of Assam Tea, until now Assam is known as the TEA PARADISE. In the coming years and decades, I’m sure Assam will be known to the world also as a TECHNOLOGICAL PARADISE,” he added.
