The first season of Beast Games on Amazon Prime Video has concluded with a record-breaking prize, but controversy has emerged over the actual payout.

Winner Takes Home £10 Million – Or Less?

Jeff Allen, known as Player 831, secured the grand prize of just over $10 million. The show, featuring 1,000 contestants competing in tough mental and physical challenges, distributed over $25 million in total prize money.

However, an influencer on X (@Dexerto) claimed that the winner will only receive $5.03 million after taxes. MrBeast reacted by retweeting the post with a crying emoji, sarcastically adding, “Only!”

MrBeast later shared a detailed breakdown of the total $25,019,995 distributed among contestants:

• First place: $10,004,242
• Runner-up: $4,200,000
• Third place: $1,800,000
• Other top prizes: $1,000,000, $650,000, $450,000, $236,878, $200,000, $190,000
• Additional rewards: Several contestants received amounts between $2,000 and $100,000

• Controversy Over Show’s Treatment of Contestants

  Despite its success, Beast Games has faced backlash. In September 2024, five contestants filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging mistreatment, exhaustion, sexual harassment, and a toxic on-set environment. They are seeking class-action status against the show’s producers.

  Premiering in December 2023, Beast Games became one of Amazon Prime Video’s most-watched reality shows. The production reportedly cost $100 million, making it one of the platform’s biggest investments in recent years.
