MrBeast To Save TikTok! Former Offers To Buy Platform Amid U.S. Ban Threat; Netizens React!

YouTube sensation Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ went viral once again after announcing that he would purchase TikTok to prevent the social media platform from being banned in the United States. His bold statement came after the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments on January 10, 2025, regarding a law that mandates TikTok’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to sell the platform by January 19, 2025, or face a potential ban.

MrBeast’s Bold Statement

On January 13, 2025, following a Bloomberg report suggesting that Elon Musk was considering buying TikTok, MrBeast took to X (formerly Twitter) and tweeted, “Okay fine, I’ll buy TikTok so it doesn’t get banned.” His tweet quickly gained traction and went viral, with thousands of netizens reacting.

Reactions And Suggestions From Fans

Many fans were quick to react, some expressing surprise while others offered ideas. One user, suggested that MrBeast should partner with Elon Musk to purchase TikTok. “Not a bad idea, just go in with Elon Musk and be partners,” the other commented.

Popular YouTuber Lazarbeam also joined in, humorously commenting, “Save America from having to watch Instagram reels.”

Meanwhile, X user @KimberlyMariey raised concerns about the impact owning TikTok could have on MrBeast’s YouTube channel, stating, “You don’t want to piss off YouTube. They would likely destroy your algorithm reach if you owned their competitor.”

MrBeast’s Influence On TikTok

MrBeast, the most-subscribed YouTuber globally, is also one of TikTok’s most prominent figures. With over 107.8 million followers on the platform, he currently ranks as the third-most-followed creator on TikTok, according to Social Blade. His TikTok videos receive an average of 14.3 million views, with a notable 6.51% viewer engagement rate, as reported by Hype Auditor.

While MrBeast’s statement appears to be lighthearted, it has raised discussions about the future of TikTok, social media competition, and the potential financial implications of such a move.
