MNM’s vice president quits party over poor show in Tamil Nadu polls, claims Kamal Haasan being ‘misguided’

Makkal Needhi Maiam vice president R Mahendran has tendered his resignation after his party’s poor show in the Tamil Nadu Assembly election. He further claimed that MNM president Kamal Haasan was being misguided.

Hassan’s party failed to secure even a single seat in the recently concluded polls.

The actor-turned-politician himself lost to BJP’s Vanathi Srinivasan from Coimbatore South.

Srinivasan defeated the MNM founder by 1728 votes.

Sharing the four-page letter on his Twitter, Mahendran said he is leaving the party with clear thinking and determination.

“I have attached the reason for that! My heartfelt thanks to President Kamal Haasan and all the central relations who gave me political interest and encouragement,” he said.
