Michael Vaughan Opposes Jofra Archer’s Return For Edgbaston Test – Here’s The Reason Why

Former England captian Michael Vaughan Believes that Jofra Archer has no place in the playing XI of the 2nd Test against India at Edgbaston, which begins next week and that the pacer still has to play plenty of red ball cricket with Sussex, prior to the third Test at Lord starting on July 10. When England played the inaugural round of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test matches against India, winning by five wickets in the first at Headingley. Archer played his first first-class game since 2021 when appearing for Sussex in the County Championship match with Durham at Chester-le-Street and had figures of 1-32 in 18 overs.

Michael Vaughan And Ben Stokes’ Statement About Jofra Archer

“No. He’s had four years out of action, I don’t see what the great rush is. Just give him a couple of games for Sussex and then bring him in for the game at Lord’s. I would continue with the attack that have bowled so well here at Leeds this week,” said Vaughan in a video posted by BBC

Highlights Of The 1st Test Match

The 1st Test at the Headingley, involving India and England was a thrilling match to the end. India scored 359/3 on Day 1 with Shubman Gill scoring a century and Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul getting off to a decent start. Rishabh Pant recorded twin centuries and Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets but despite that India could not defend its total of 371. Ben Duckett blasted 149 on the 5th Day after England chased down a total of 345 runs to win the 2nd highest chase on home soil. England, despite Indians having five centurions, was ahead in the five-match series 1-0.
